When the big freeze comes along each year, I always set out on an epic quest for the perfect boot. Needless to say I have found it and then some with this little MAISON MARGIELA number. The shape – bordering on a modernised 60’s style, make this accessory a standout that will help me dress up my warmer clothing this winter and many more to come. Fuck the winter weather, I will be donning these until the end of the world and the zombie apocalypse subsequently knocks out mankind.

Anyways, besides the fact that I have in fact found the perfect boot, they look amazing with my newly found VINTAGE LEVIS 501. While vintage shopping in Melbourne I came across this pair of beautifully crafted denim. While they were like 6 sizes to big, I loved the wash and the style. I had them taken in, in way to many places than should be necessary when buying a pair of jeans and now they are just right!

So lesson for today – When you pair MAISON MARGIELA, VINTAGE DENIM, COWBOYESQUE ACCESSORIES and of course A TURTLENECK, the result is utter magic.

I leave you with the famous words of Kanye West:

“What’s that jacket….. MARGIELA”

Recently the talented and beautiful human beings that are Natasha Schweitzer and Catch Love Collective launched their amazing Fall/Winter 2015 lines. I had the pleasure of attending their super fun launch party.

It was really a great night! It was so good seeing my wonderful friends launch such amazing lines.

On the night of the event, I was decked out in pieces from both amazing lines. The amazing Florence Blouse from Catch Love Collective is the perfect blend of classic style, luxury and comfort. It doesn’t hurt that it’s extremely affordable! I also got to rock these amazing earrings from one of the coolest chicks I know Natasha Schweitzer. Natasha’s whole line was inspired by bubbles and the Double Drop Hoop Earring translates this inspiration completely. Not only are they the perfect mix of high fashion and my own personal desire to have a little bit of ghetto fabulous in me but they are the lightest weight earrings for such a statement piece.

After an amazing night at Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, I didn’t know how the next place on our vacation could possibly top it. I WAS DEAD WRONG. Upon arriving to Saffire in Freycinet, we were showed around the grounds of the hotel and immediately offered champagne (after 4 hours of driving with my parents and Adam in a car, I definitely need it). So this place basically had me at the champagne glasses. Our suites for the two nights were on another level of luxury. The views from our bedroom windows were unbelievable and more importantly they wined and dined us at all hours of the day anywhere we wanted. I could have probably been down in the bush and they still would have brought me freshly shucked oysters and a bottle of bubbles… definitely my kind of place. While the attire of the two nights was semi casual, I still wanted to rock my new favourite pair of high-waisted demi-flares from the Alexa Chung for AG Jeans collection. I have been feeling more in a bohemian/parisian mood lately and I thought that pairing these with my linen white Enza Costa shirt and pointed-toe Acne Studio boots would be an outfit perfect for my current style choice.

I am currently on a trip through Tasmania with my parents. When my parents told me that I was going to Tasmania, I had no expectations what so ever. Our first stop was Craddle Mountain. This place looks like the Australian version of Lord of the Rings. It is spectacular. It is so green and the forest looks like a mix between a rain forest and Big Sur. I can’t even describe to you how beautiful it is. Yesterday we went on a 3 hour hike to the look out point of one of the mountains, I almost died on the way up but it was so worth it once we all got there. Like any mountain area, it’s the perfect excuse to rock some denim on denim. I paired Adam’s Vintage Levi’s shirt (that’s now mine) with some of my Acne Pop Vintage jeans, a khaki t-shirt, and my favourite pistol boots.

Next up on our trip is Freycinet. My parents have told me how amazing the resort is that we are staying at, I am so excited to see it!

I recently scored these amazing loafers on sale from Satine in Venice Beach. The lovely employees at Satine were nice enough to ship them all the way out to me in Australia because I was missing their famous sale. I had such a fun time visiting Satine when I was in LA in December, I am already wanting to make another trip back to the U.S.A. Now back to the shoes, they are amazing. The softest leather and they make me feel like a super trendy Michael Jackson (who doesn’t want to look like Michael Jackson?). This outfit is sort of Michael Jackson circa Billy jean, and I mean that in the best possible way.

This look was completed with one of my favourite and the most comfortable T-shirts by Madewell. Just to give it a bit more of a vintage feel, I paired it back with some of my new Acne Studios pop jeans.

I also can’t stop carrying around my recent Christmas present, the sac du jour by Saint Laurent. My amazing boyfriend really spoiled me this time. It’s so perfect for work because I can almost fit anything in there. Laptop, creative pads, cameras, you name it!

What are you guys thinking of my bangs? Should I do the full chop and get a Freja Beha? Im contemplating it…..

Guess you’ll just have to wait and see!

Equipped with the Basics

Some of you may not know this but Monday to Friday, I am the marketing manager and online editor at the boutique, Calexico. This past week we rented a unique space for one of our weekly shoots. The apartment was decorated by the owner who happened to be a furniture designer and architect. He has a modern aesthetic to design and makes very interesting pieces. It all went perfectly with the vibe I was aiming for and allowed us to showcase all the amazing basics and essential pieces Calexico has to offer. It was my first mini campaign that I styled (with some help from the model who is also my sudo-assistant), shot, and edited. I love the colour tones in all the photos and the moodiness of the lighting. Cant wait to continue posting all my work outside of just the shoots I do for myself!

Sponsored Video: NIVEA’s Sun Summer Resolution Campaign

Nivea-Post-Collage

{Just some of my moody inspiration of sun, sand and surf}

As a lot of you may know, I grew up in California for most of my life. After I turned 18 I hopped on a plane and moved to Arizona for 4 years to attend ASU. Then after I graduated, I spent a brief stint back in San Francisco before I packed my bags once again to move to Australia. Point is, I’ve spent my entire life in places that are key destination spots for sun, surf, or holiday weather. While this has been a luxury I would never trade in, it comes with a risk of skin damage and dangers like skin cancer. I know that I spent YEARS in Arizona laying out by my pool with no sunscreen on. Now that I am older (and wiser) I have developed a greater desire to protect my skin when I am in the sun (you only have one face!). Since being in Australia, which has one of the strongest rays of sun in the world, I know this from the experience of painful sunburns, it has been even more important for me to put on sunscreen. As annoying as sunscreen is to put on and it’s ability to keep us from getting as bronzed as we would all really like, it’s really the only thing that has the ability to fully protect our skin from the sun!

NIVEA has created an amazing video on the coast of Australia using a ultraviolet camera. The camera allowed people to actually look deep into their skin and see what damage has occurred from over sun exposure. The video also shows just what your skin looks like with a layer of sunscreen on it, which looks actually pretty rad when you can truly see the effect sunscreen has. So, check out this video folks! AND apply lots of sunscreen to your sexy bodies, while also lending a helping hand to your boyfriends, hubbys or just some hot strangers who need a good rub down. When using NIVEA products don’t forget to check the label and use only as directed!

NIVEA Sun Summer Resolution Campaign

New Age 70’s

Campaign

After a cold month of December in the U.S.A, I am now back in Australia and fighting the humidity and heat that wafts in the air of Queensland. I am not sure what has caused the mood but recently I have had a sudden want, no, NEED to wear flared jeans and sleeveless shirts. This combination to me is picturesque of California summers and for some reason reminds me of the palm trees lining the streets of LA. Maybe I’ll always be a California girl at heart, and no matter where I live or how long I live there I’ll always get the desire to move back to it’s sunny coast. When I was in the U.S. and having a cheeky browse at the amazing Neiman Marcus sale, I found these McGuire flared jeans with a raw hem and immediately fell in love, unfortunately, they were not on sale, as are all items I tend to drift toward in stores (I chalk it up to expensive taste, but I may just be unlucky). This new pair of denim, covers all the desires I have in life for a flare, and paired with my graphic MSGM t-shirt and ASOS heeled sandals, has me feeling like a 70’s rockstar about to slap on some rollerblades and boogie on down. I also picked up a new pair of sunglasses on my trip overseas. I was in search for a pair to replace my Celine Audrey sunglasses after Cornelius decided to eat them for breakfast (may they rest in peace) and I think these new Saint Laurent’s have filled the void that my Celine’s ultimately left in my life.

I have also paired this outfit with my unreal MOOI leather and cowhide envelope clutch. MOOI is an amazing brand that makes beautiful leather products. She also makes all her items with leather that is leftover from the food industry in Africa.  You can view her website and all her amazing purses here: MOOI

Wine Country in Winter: How to dress for Napa Valley

Canon Ebay Photos 6-2

This past month, I went on a very long vacation to California to catch up with my family and friends over the holiday season. One of the benefits of my life in California is my house in the Napa Valley. For those of you who have never been to the Napa Valley, it can be VERY cold during the winter, but when considering all the activities that are to be done in wine county, like, wine tasting, wine tasting, and more wine tasting, it is essential to have only the chicest outfit while pounding all that vino. While wine tasting can appear to be a very classy event, it can also be a long process. So its important to still look your best while also appealing to your comfort levels. Because it was so cold while I was there, I opted for a suede jacket (this is a similar version, not in suede, and on sale!) that is by far the warmest jacket I own. I paired it with my white equipment silk button-up (it’s on SALE!), blue jeans, and thigh high black boots (These are so comfortable), a chunky belt, a beanie, and my new Saint Laurent sunnies.

Regardless of what you wear, Napa Valley is always an amazing place to visit with friends and family. It has delicious food, amazing views, and the yummiest wine. The next time you visit Napa feel free to let me know and I will send you a list of my favourite places to visit!

Blazers and Bekkets

Cover-Photo

Cropped Blazer // Boyfriend Jeans // Bekket Sneakers // White T-shirt

I can’t really say what my style is exactly like, but recently I have wanted to wear nothing but sneakers and boyfriend jeans. This outfit is a funny twist on something your supposed to wear to work paired with something that I would love to wear everyday (ALL DAY). I think that the structured fit of a cropped blazer paired with a pair of baggy denim is a contrasting look that is super chic but also SO comfortable and easy. Who doesn’t want to be easy (get your mind out of the gutter)? I know that I have been completely MIA lately, and that is because I have recently taken a new job as the Marketing Manager of my favourite boutique in Brisbane, Calexico. Its going to be a lot of hard work managing both that as well as Katie Eve, but I am committed to making both brands as best as they can be. On a lighter note, I will be setting off on a month long vacay to my birth place, the US of A. Get ready for a live update of all the fun trips Im taking, and of course all the fun stuff that I am wearing! I get to go from summer weather back to winter (my favourite time of the year). Winter clothing is just so much fun to wear. There are so many options and so much layering to be done when its winter. Stay tuned for some fun updates! xx
